Changes to AML/CTF Compliance — Tranche 2

AUSTRAC is changing the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act (AML/CTF) from 1 July 2026. New services and entities, known as Tranche 2, will now have to comply with AML/CTF obligations.

The new services to be included are provided by:

  • Real Estate Agents and Property Developers
  • Accountants
  • Dealers in Precious Stones, Metals and Products
  • Trust and Company Service Providers
  • Lawyers and Conveyancers
  • Virtual Asset Service Providers

    Sector-specific guidance to be released

    Commencement of AML/CTF obligations for Tranche 2 entities
